Philippians 2:5-6: “5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God (though the divine nature was His from the beginning, who has always been God by nature), did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped.”

Jesus, being our great God and Savior, deserves our worship. His unique oneness with God the Father and His exalted position gives Him a name which is above all other names. In the name of Jesus, all others (whether in heaven or on earth) will bow in reverence to the King Immortal and confess Jesus as Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Such worship and praise does not belong to just any angel or human, but to our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.
*Although some translations render John 1:18 as the “only begotten Son,” the most ancient Greek manuscripts render this passage the “only begotten God.”
